I am a dental hygiene educator and predoctoral clinical instructor dedicated to shaping confident, capable professionals through evidence-based education and mentorship. I teach didactic dental hygiene courses, pre-clinical laboratories, and clinical education within a dental school setting.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and a Master of Science in Health Professions Education, and I am beginning doctoral studies in Health Professions Education at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. My work focuses on supporting both current and future dental hygienists as they move beyond technical skills toward confidence, critical thinking, and leadership within the profession.
My approach to education centers on creating learning environments that are structured, supportive, and intellectually challenging. I prioritize clarity, meaningful feedback, and psychological safety so learners feel empowered to ask questions, reflect on their progress, and build confidence without fear of failure.
Mentorship is central to my work. I focus on guiding learners through growth rather than perfection, encouraging curiosity, self-efficacy, and accountability. I believe education is most impactful when individuals feel supported while being challenged to recognize and reach their full potential.
My leadership philosophy is grounded in reflection, collaboration, and continuous growth. I value humility, discipline, and honest feedback, and I view effective leadership as the ability to empower others rather than rely on authority.
I am committed to cultivating environments where individuals feel heard, supported, and motivated to contribute meaningfully. Whether in the classroom, clinic, or professional setting, my goal is to help develop future leaders who will continue advancing dental hygiene through evidence, integrity, and care.
Current areas of focus include educational innovation, technology-enhanced learning, and mentorship within dental hygiene and health professions education.
